Bullies have a lot of power. Although this power is not used in a positive way, people still obey them. In Lord of the Flies, I would consider Jack to be a bully because he punished boys for no apparent reason. He has the power to do all sort of things without even thinking twice.

Leadership is more than just being a role model for someone. Tim Onuyschuk showed leadership by creating a non-profit organization for disadvantaged kids. People would donate hockey equipment for these kids. This relates to the book in a way because leaders give more than they receive and they are happy about it. For example, Ralph gives up his time to help these boys survive.

This article represents responsibility. Facebook is a social network that more than 400 million people have. It creates problems and causes cyberbullying. Parents should be responsible enough to see what their kids are doing on it. Lord of the Flies revolves around responsibility. For example, the older kids taking care of the younger ones (Ralph taking care of Simon).

In this article, a fourteen year old gets a heart transplant. This refers to freedom because she can now live her life with no struggles and people treating her differently such as adults. She has to fight against herself to stay strong and healthy. In Lord of the Flies, these kids have freedom because they do not have adults around but they have to fight with themselves to try to survive.

An artist by the name of M.I.A., had her music video banned because it had violent scenes of executions. Because it wasn't "clean" he had to be taken off. Just like following the rules, if you don't listen you get punished. Lord of the Flies contained many parts where some of the boys didn't follow the rules. For example, boys talked when they didn't had the conch and it caused chaos. Jack and Roger threw stones at them.
